Scripts, codes and software
Open Science thematic school for SHS The Center for Spatial Analysis and Geovisualization (UAR RIATE) organizes the Open Science for SHS: Scripts, Codes and Software (SO-SHS) thematic school from June 22 to 27. This school is aimed at researchers, doctoral students, teacher researchers, engineers, and postdoctoral students in the field of social and human sciences who have programming experience and wish to learn about the concepts and techniques involved in managing computer development in the context of open science.
The following topics will be covered:
- Open Science issues: opening up research articles, data, and codes
- Software forges and workflows: script and code management with Git and platforms (GitHub, GitLab)
- task automation, and web publishing
- Literate programming and notebooks: Operational solutions for combining code and documentation (quarto, jupyter, markdown)
- Computational reproducibility: clarifying the analysis computing environment (renv, venv, docker, etc.) and archiving software production.
It will take place at the CAES CNRS in Saint-Pierre d’Oléron (alongside the Géo-Cités AGM) and is supported by the CNRS, INED, CIST, UMR IDEES and the Sciences et Humanités faculty of Université Paris Cité.
