Research areas

The research carried out focuses on the opportunities and on the obstacles linked to the deployment of renewable energies in Europe. The research covers the energy-climate policy of the EU, national and local energy policies across the EU, the factors that may inhibit the energy transition (permitting, social acceptance, possible contradictions with ESG standards) as well as the impact of the transition on geopolitics of energy..

2010 : Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (French post-doctoral degree allowing its holder to supervise PhD students). Title: “Catching-up and economic integration dynamics in Central and Eastern Europe”.

1996 : PhD Geography (Lyon University) : Géopolitics of Eastern borders of Germany.
