Géographie-cités, an interdisciplinary laboratory at the crossroads of human geography and urban studies

Géographie-cités is a joint research unit comprising 80 teacher-researchers, researchers, engineers, technicians, and as many doctoral students working on research that combines theoretical and epistemological reflection, quantitative and qualitative methods, empirical work, and comparative approaches.

The laboratory has four co-supervisors: CNRS, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Université Paris Cité and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. It is made up of three teams – CRIA, EHGO, and PARIS–that develop both their own research and common themes. This research combines reflexivity, human geography, urban studies, and urban planning.

It is involved in numerous scientific programs and partnerships both in France and abroad.
