Ségolène Débarre is a assistant professor at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, member of the Geographie-Cités research unit (UMR 8504), associate researcher at the Centre d’Études Turques, Ottomanes, Balkaniques et Centrasiatiques (UMR 8032) and at the Institut Français d’Études Anatoliennes (USR 3131). She is a fellow of the Institut Convergences Migrations (ICM). Her research interests include the construction of European geographical knowledge on the Turkish world and migrations between Turkey and France.

2022-2023 In charge of a PHC Bosphorus project with the University of Yeditepe in Istanbul: “Migration from Turkey to France: Mapping mobility and political participation”. With 10 researchers from France and Turkey, the project aims at analysing the characteristics of political participation of people from Turkey in France and at proposing original forms of mapping.
2018 – 2019 Ségolène Débarre (Univ. Paris 1 – UMR Géographie-Cités), Işıl Erdinç (Univ. Dauphine – IRISSO), Cem Özatalay (GSÜ – Department of Sociology) and Hakan Yücel (GSÜ – Department of Political Science), “Student Circulations between France and Turkey: a state of the art of the Erasmus programme”. Research programme funded by the Galatasaray University Support Consortium (Turkey)
Projects within the Geographie-Cités laboratory
Coordination with Béatrice von Hirschhausen of the inter-teams project: “Stabilities and fluidities of geographical objects” which federates researchers questioning the duration of spatial configurations and/or the relationships between practices and representations of space and time. Within this project, we are at the initiative of a collective work on “Imaginaries of the future in the analysis of the production of spaces” presented during a session of the International Geographic Union (IGU) Congress in July 2022.
