Camille Dabestani is a young PhD graduate in geography and a member of the T.E.R.M.S. team at the UMR Géographie-cités. Her doctoral research focuses on macroregional imaginaries in a postcolonial context and examines students’ appropriations and projections of regionalization in Martinique and Guadeloupe. At the intersection of social and cultural geography, critical political geography, and postcolonial studies, this thesis, supervised by Clarisse Didelon-Loiseau, examines the construction and appropriation of macroregional imaginaries, as well as the identities and senses of belonging projected onto these regions.

As part of her postdoctoral research, she is working within the VF2+ project (PEPR VDBI) and the UMR ESO-Nantes on vulnerabilities, multiple and embedded inequalities, and residents’ experiences of extreme heat in urban areas.
