A study day dedicated to the analysis of territorial planning documents will be held on Tuesday January 28, 2025, on the Condorcet Campus.
Organized by the Géographie-cités, LVMT, and ThéMa laboratories as part of their Data and Protocols in the Digital Humanities transversality, the day will provide an opportunity to discuss possible methodologies for analyzing planning policies at different scales. We will explore several reading grids that have been applied to different types of planning documents and reflect on the contributions and limitations of qualitative and quantitative approaches.
In the morning, a round-table discussion will bring together researchers who will share their methodologies for analyzing planning documents such as local urban plans, urban travel plans, regional economic development, innovation and internationalization schemes, or regional master plans, on a variety of themes: urban logistics (Laetitia Dablanc), mobility (Thomas Buhler; Jean Debrie), and sector strategies (Thibaud Bages). In the afternoon, two sessions will be devoted to hands-on introductions to TXM (for automated textual analysis of documents) and YOLO (for image analysis).
