Ivan Savchuk, expert in economic geography, will take part in the second edition of the study days “the war in Ukraine. views from the (eastern) border of Europe” on October 11 and 12 in Bucharest.
He will be presenting a paper on “The economic geography of Ukraine in wartime – spatial changes” (in French), on October 12 at 11:30 am, at the round table “Ukraine: the economic dimensions of the war, refugees and survival practices”.

The event is organized by the University of Bucharest, the Centre régional francophone d’études avancées en sciences sociales (Cerefrea Villa Noël) and EHESS, in collaboration with the following partners: Institut français de Roumanie, Institut Convergences Migrations (ICM), Centre français de recherche en sciences sociales (Cefres), University of Budapest (ELTE), University of Warsaw.
Ivan Savchuk, a former researcher at the Ukrainian National Defense University in Kyiv, is currently pursuing his research in France, at the Géographie-cités laboratory. He is currently participating in the Franco-German Limspaces program (2021–2024).
